How to run ads that always get approved

In other words, how to create ads that won't get rejected.

If you're new to Facebook Ads, you may not be aware of this, but getting too many ads rejected is risky business. It could see your ad account get shut down entirely.

Ain't nobody got time for that.

So, what can you do to avoid it?

And how easy is it to get ads rejected anyway?

The answer to that is VERY.

Learning how to create copy that converts for Facebook ads is an art form of its own.

Still don't believe me?

Ok, I'm going to give it to you straight.

If you are a coach, consultant, or service provider - chances are you've been told to speak to people's pain points, right?

However - with Facebook ads - you can't

- speak to personal attributes - health/mental health/politics/gender - use the word "you/your/you're" excessively - make income claims - use timescales - reference flexible work/work from home

Using "you" is dynamite for most sales copy - but only use it sparingly when you're creating FB ads.

So, what...

I like your smile - why you shouldn't neglect brand photos

People so often neglect brand photos. Particularly when they’re starting out.

It’s low on the priority list.

Often below Facebook Ads.

Or you do have some headshots, but they’re two years old.

This is a BIG mistake.

If you’re a coach, online course provider, or expert - YOU are your brand.

Let’s think about this for a moment.

The uncomfortable truth is, there are various iterations out there of what you are selling.

May sound harsh, but it’s true.

What are people buying into when they make a purchase from you?

YOU.

They like, know and trust you.

They trust YOU to be their guide into the area of your expertise.

There once was a time where personal brands attempted to emulate being something “bigger”, hiding behind company names.

But that didn’t wash.

Well known entrepreneurs are known by their own names. Regardless of the size of their team or the name of their company.

Think Amy Porterfield, Stu McLaren, Richard Branson,...

Do you know your conversion rates?

What does success look like?

No, I’m not talking swigging bottles of Cristal in the back of chauffeur driven Bentley.

I mean, do you understand what’s working in your sales funnel?

What’s flying?

What’s flopping?

When you look at your customer journey, do you understand what’s flowing - and where the bottlenecks are?

What does a successful sales funnel look like on the back end?

Understand your numbers

Regardless of whether you’re running ads - it’s really useful to understand your numbers.

In fact, as a Facebook Ads Manager, it’s the first thing I look at before we do ANYTHING - as it’s indicative of the success you’ll have once you start running ads.

Because I’ve said it a gazillion times, and I’ll say it again.

If you’re running traffic to something that’s not already converting - it will just carry on not converting at an even larger scale.

Understanding the conversion rates at each stage...

The 7 most common launch mistakes

business growth Jan 08, 2021

Does the word “launch” fill you with fear or excitement?

Most likely, it’s a bit of both.

I can’t actually count how many launches I have supported over the last few years. There have been a lot.

7 figure launches, 6 figure launches, and iddy biddy launches.

I’ve done them all.

Neither of the 6 or 7 figure launches happened without a team and a strategy.

Yet, when many people approach their very first launch, they’re often attempting to do a lot of it on their own.

They’re passionate to have more impact, make more sales and to get more clients.

BUT they also don’t want to end up with egg on their face from a “failed launch”.

I get it.

The first launch is an enormous milestone.

Not many of us can see beyond that first launch, as it’s already such a giant leap out of our comfort zone.

But the reality is - a launch isn’t a destination.

It’s a process - which gets refined as you rinse and repeat it.

How to hire a Facebook Ads Manager

How do you hire an Ads Marketer who can bring you those awesome results you hear others getting excited about?

Because it's intimidating hiring someone in an area you know little about.

I get those same jitters anytime I stand in front of a mechanic.

On the surface I'm doing lots of quizzical looks and enthusiastic nodding.

Below the surface, I'm making silent prayers I can trust the dude - as well as a mental list of things I should google when I get home - to understand what the F he or she has suggested.

So, let me break it down for you.

Because hiring a fb ads manager doesn't need to be complicated.

And it shouldn't be a gamble.

First off.

Are YOU ready to hire a FB ads manager?

  • Are you clear on your ideal client?

  • Are you clear on the problem you/your service/product solves?

  • Do you have an offer which is selling already?

  • Do you have clear goals? (ie to build your list, launch a product or sell an online course)

  • Do you have content which is already doing well - and...

How to protect your energy during a launch

business growth Jan 08, 2021

LAUNCHING.

What feeling does that word give you?

Excitement, dread, panic?

Most likely it’s a combination of all of the above - particularly if you’re starting out.

To be prolific with your launches - requires buckets of adrenaline.

Whether that’s excitement or trepidation, launching is an emotional rollercoaster.

I have supported about a dozen launches this year alone, and as an empath - I have had to learn a level of resilience to not allow myself to be swept along with those “I launched a minute ago and nobody has bought yet?!” moments of panic.

I’ve seen enough launches in my ten years of marketing to know what the trends are - to lean into trust - and to calmly guide my clients through those moments.

One thing I have seen throughout - is that you can have the best strategy - but if you don’t have the mindset tools to boot - launching will be 900% more difficult for you.

Because I bring the traffic, but YOU make the...

My top 4 favourite business shortcuts

business growth Jan 08, 2021

Shortcuts get short thrift.

At worst they are considered untrustworthy, at best they’re considered sloppy.

Personally I LOVE shortcuts and I’m happy to shout about them. Heck, I’m going to share some with you too.

BECAUSE they free you up to spend more time doing what you love.

(Like swinging on a sandy beach.)

Who doesn’t want that?

We are more prolific and purposeful, resilient and fulfilled when we work from a place of love.

Learning to be more efficient and productive frees up time to make that possible.

And I hate to be the one to break it to you, but buying a pretty year planner is not enough to consider oneself “productive”. (Yeah, that WAS me.)

Neither is having a trello board you meander onto occasionally. (Also guilty)

You’ve got to work smart.

Look at where you’re repeatedly providing certain services in your business, and look at how you can make that process more efficient.

My drive is full of frameworks and...

My favourite tech for launching

business growth Jan 08, 2021

Got your first launch coming up?

Wahoo!

I LOVE a good launch.

However, let’s not sugar coat it - a lot of people find launching stressful. Particularly when it’s your first time. There’s a lot of different things to coordinate, deadlines to meet, and just the sheer vulnerability of putting your dream out there - and waiting to see if it takes off.

Well, I want to take some of that mental load off you.

As a Facebook Ads manager, I have supported many different launches. This means I have had the chance to try and test a lot of different software and tech tools.

Below are my faves

For project management

Trello* - Not the first, or the last time I’ll mention it, I LOVE Trello. Particularly now I have a team. It’s the best way to see at a glance where we’re at - and great for creating Launch SOPs.

For Landing Pages

Leadpages* - for beautiful and effective landing pages that don’t cost the earth. However, if you’re on a budget..

Mailerlite...

The online business tools I live by

business growth Jan 08, 2021

I love running my online business.

It affords me flexibility and freedom to work intuitively, expansively and abundantly.

I get to choose the rhythm I work best with. I’m not restrained by outdated working schedules and unnecessary “show your face” meetings, however there is one thing you can’t get away from.

People.

Whether it’s onboarding new clients or keeping your team on track with projects - it helps to have platforms and processes which make your working day easier and more expansive.

Because productivity increases the efficiency of your business processes.

Managing your business efficiently buys you TIME.

TIME buys you business growth, personal growth, connection with your family and friends.

Regularly reassessing your business processes to see how effectively you’re working - is a must.

As you grow your business, your priorities and focus will evolve - as should your business processes.

Having said that - these are the tools that I...

Do you charge recession proof rates?

business growth Jan 08, 2021

I don't know if you're anything like me, but the words "impending recession" can give me a wobble.

YET as a "company of one" we are resilient in this economic environment. We are lean operating machines that are able to adapt and pivot. That is powerful!

And let’s be honest, what’s the alternative? Working for a large company no longer carries the security it once used to.

Businesses are increasingly online, and with that comes a great opportunity to reinvent, adapt and explore new ideas and opportunities.

BUT “adapting” shouldn't equate to UNDERCHARGING.

Sure, as we grow our business and client base, there will inevitably be jobs that we cut our teeth on - and for those - you'll often charge less (or work more).

But it is important to know WHEN to stop that habit, and not be embarrassed to ask for more.

The common thing I hear is - but the people who know and buy from me expect to pay those low rates.

That’s fine. Find some new people who will pay...
